After the Great Protector dropped Shang-Chi off by the Dark Gates, Shang-Chi found his father and approached him. During their duel, Shang-Chi gets the upper hand and causes Wenwu to lose control of his rings. Shang-Chi then took possession of the rings and pleaded with his father to just be his father again, giving the rings back to him.
